Mary Ellen Lutey

Ms. Lutey was appointed Senior Vice President-Exploration, Development and EHS of SM Energy in November 2020, having previously served as Senior Vice President-Development and EHS since December 2019, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for the South Texas and Gulf Coast region since May 2015, and Vice President and Regional Manager for the Company’s Mid-Continent region since December 2012. Ms. Lutey joined SM Energy in June 2008 as North Rockies Asset Manager.

Ms. Lutey has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining SM Energy, Ms. Lutey was with Chesapeake Energy and ConocoPhillips, and its predecessor companies since 2005. Prior to ConocoPhillips, Ms. Lutey was with Burlington Resources since 1994 and served in several roles of increasing responsibility in engineering, geoscience, business development, strategic planning, and resource development in the United States and Canada.

Ms. Lutey currently serves on the Board of Directors of NuVista Energy Ltd. (TSX: NVA). Ms. Lutey also currently serves on the Coordinating Committee of the American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC).
